Hi Britany!

This is an excellent question. My solution to balancing a blog and freelance writing is to try to zero in on specific stories that would specifically match a site I'm interested in publishing on, and then saving the rest for my blog. So far, it seems to be a pretty good strategy.

Parting with good material is ALWAYS hard!

Have you thought about including a page on your site with links to your other published pieces? That way, you could still have the piece "on" your site, too :)

Matt's panel on social media strategy was one I was disappointed to have missed out on. Thanks for the recap, Matt! Kristin or Matt ... do either of you have advice on how to balance your blog with freelance writing? I would like to pitch more freelance pieces but I often have a hard time parting with good material when it could go on my own site. But I see the importance of doing both... thoughts?
